Ashley Riley Vs. The Arnold Sisters
Defending State Champion Ashley Riley will have her hands full this Saturday with the Arnold Sisters from Blue Eye. Freshmen Riley and Avery Arnold have had break out seasons this year and are looking to finish it up with two state medal, and they hope one of them gold. Riley Arnold has the fastest time this season (18:33) then Avery (19:02)., then Ashley Riley (19:14). However, I think the senior is going to show the two underclassmen how its done on Saturday. Ashley as been the most consistent running sub 19:45 seven times this season, while the Arnolds have done it six times combined. This really could be a close race though, but I'm rolling with Ashley Riley in 1st, Riley Arnold 2nd, Avery Arnold 3rd.
Team Title Talk
As you saw in above, Blue Eye has a the Arnold Sisters but they also have the 6th ranked runner in Class 1 Braylynn Siercks. They are by far the best 1-4 in Class 1, and their 5 is a pretty solid runner as well. So its no surprise here that I'm picking Blue Eye to win the team title. Lutheran (Kansas City) looks like a solid 2nd place that could give Blue Eye a run, followed by a tight race for third between West Platte and St. Joseph Christian and I give West Platte the advantage with St. Joseph Christian taking forth.
