North Carolina A&T hosted the the New Balance Nationals Outdoor championships in Greensboro, North Carolina this weekend. Despite being halfway across the country, several Missourians made the trip to compete against many of the nations best.
Devin Roberson (Jefferson City), fresh off of his State Record and State Championship in Discus, took his talents to Greensboro to make run at a National Championship. With a big throw of 210-05, Roberson did just that. He beat the next closest competition by over 18 feet as he captured the the National Title.
The Lee's Summit West Girls made the trip to NBNO again this year and are bringing home a title. Their DMR of Madison Hulsey (3:34), Akirah Venerable (57.85), Audrey Parson (2:15), and Ginger Murnieks (4:59) took first place with an 11:48, defeating Randolph, New Jersey who ran 11:49.
The Titans 4x800m team also finished as All-Americans with their third place finish in the 4x800m, as Parson (2:15), Murnieks (2:17), Hailey Hardin (2:20), and Hulsey (2:08) combined for a 9:02.36 which was a good enough for third place. Maddie Harris also was an All-American as she placed forth in the Javelin with a throw of 144-04.
