Riley Arnold (Blue Eye)
Riley couldn't have had a better freshman season, as she finished as the Class 1 State Champion. She and her sister Avery led Blue to a 4th place team finish at State as well to finish on the podium. She took the great success she had in XC, and carried it over to the track this Spring with a 2nd place finish in the Class 1 1600m, and a forth place finish in the 3200m.
Avery Arnold (Blue Eye)
Avery had a pretty spectacular season as well, as she finished right behind her sister to take second place at the State Meet last year. She actually beat her sister in most of their races last year, so she make look to earn back some kitchen table bragging rights this season with a victory at State. She had a successful track season as well with state medals in both the 800m and 1600m with a fifth and forth place finish respectively.
Delaney Straus (Marion County)
The Marion County sophomore had a great freshman season, and finished third at the State Meet a year ago. However, it was on the track that she really opened everyone's eyes. She earned FOUR State Medals on the track, taking second place in the 400m, and winning State Championships in the 800m, 1600m, AND 3200m. She'll look to add a cross country state title to her trophy case this Fall.
Kjirsten Guilford (Salisbury)
Guilford was another member of the freshman class that tore up Class 1 last season. She earned a State Medal at Oak Hills with a 5th place finish. She was All-State in Track as well with a third place finish in the Class 1 800m.
Braylynn Siercks (Blue Eye)
Another valuable member to Blue Eye's State Trophy team, Siercks was an All-State runner a year ago. She placed 11th at the State Meet and will look to jump in the top 10 this season. She also picked up a state medal in track with a sixth place finish in the Class 1 3200m.
Titus Thompson (School of the Ozarks)
It's not often we see freshman boys finishing towards the front at State, but Thompson did just that a year ago. He finished as the runner up last year to earn a state medal, and he'll be the favorite this season as State Champion Chase Ratliff has since graduated. He earned another state medal this Spring when he finished second in the Class 1 1600m.
Ryan Cardenzana (Blue Eye)
Cardenzana was the only other freshman boy to medal last Fall when he placed 21st at Oak Hills. He'll look move up the podium with further improvements this season. He had a successful Track season as well, where he just missed out on a medal with a 9th place finish in the Class 1 3200m.
