After finishing his Track season with an All-State performance this Spring, he started his senior cross country season in spectacular fashion with a win at the Ft Zumwalt North Twilight. He ran a blazing 15:39 5K to claim the victory in a loaded field, that included several top teams. He didn't enter the season ranked, but he's definitely got everyone's attention now.
Porter returned to his PR course, and repeated as the champion of the Greg Wilson Classic. He ran 15:40, which is the second fastest time he has recorded, and currently sits in second place in the State just behind Teeter. He will continue to be one to watch at the season continues.
Blake Morris and his Notre Dame teammates traveled to Memphis back in Week 1, and Morris put in a great performance. He ran 15:46 to take 4th place in the always competitive Memphis Twilight. He showed that he is going to be a force to reckon with in Class 3.
This is the performance that impressed me the most this weekend. The Helias Senior picked up a win at the Jim Marshall Cross County Invite which is hosted on the always challenging Cole County Fair Grounds, with a time of 16:03. That was the third fastest time ever ran on that course, and the two guys d who ran faster did in a District meet at the end of the year and both placed third at State in Class 4 in those respective years. It's safe to say Crull is going to be competing for a title in Class 3.
The #1 Ranked St. Louis University High Junior Billikens THREW DOWN this weekend across the river at the Granite City Invitational. They had a 1-5 Average of 15:38 over three miles. To make it easier to understand how well they did, I'll had their converted 5K's next to their times. Lucas Rackers took third at 15:19 (15:53), Noah Scott forth at 15:21 (15:56), Adam Mittendorf 11th at 15:40 (16:15), and John Hogan was 14th at 15:53 (16:29), and Grant Brawley was 16th at 15:58 (16:34). I know that's not an exact science, but that would EASILY have them in first place in the virtual meet so far this season. These guys aren't going anywhere but up anytime soon.

One week ago, there probably weren't any people outside of Wildwood who knew who Grace Tyson was. Well after running 18:49 to take second place in her first ever cross country at the Ft Zumwalt North Invitational, everyone know who the Lafayette freshman is now. Considering it was her very first race, the sky looks to be the limit for this lady lancer.
Another freshman that stood out this weekend was Kickapoo's Klarie Brown. She picked up the victory in her first every high school race as well at SWCCCA with a time of 19:16. That time is currently 10th in the State so far, and it looks like this Chief has a bright future.
The Smithville Junior looks like she's picking up right where she left off last season. She picked up the victory at the competitive Tim Nixon Invitational on Saturday with a winning time of 19:22. She's only ran faster than that a handful of times, and it looks like she's got plenty in the tank to keep improving and challenge for a Class 3 Title in November.
