What To Watch

Oak Ridge boys are still frontrunners in the overall field in Class 1 and could very well show everyone why on Saturday. They are projected to top the next closest team by upwards of 50 points. Jace Caveness of The Fulton School tucked away in St. Albans has been running well against the nearby Class 4 schools so he should fare well in the individual race and could be a dark horse candidate for his own state title. Oak Ridge could put three right behind them, though, as they roll to the district title.

The girls team race will be much closer with three teams (the only three full teams) all closely packed together. It's hard to separate the three and any combination of them could happen on Saturday. We're going with Oak Ridge and South Iron to pull in the qualifier spots. Katie Keilholz looks like a clear favorite for the individual win. The Chamois junior four-time state qualifier in cross country and track and was 17th in Class 1 in 2017, 44th last year.
