Full Team Scores Virtual Meet: Boys | Girls

Boys Qualifying Teams: Kirkwood, Webster Groves, Jackson, Lindbergh, SLUH, Ladue, Chaminade, Pattonville

Girls Qualifying Teams: Nerinx Hall, Kirkwood, Farmington, Cor Jesu, Pattonville, Jackson, Ladue, Ft. Zumwalt East

Sectional 1 will take place at Parkway Central High School on Saturday morning. Parkway Central has never been a particularly fast course, but this year it should be a bit quicker than it was last season based on changes made to the course.

The Girls team race looks to be a three way race between District 1 Champion Cor Jesu, District 1 Runner Up Nerinx Hall, and District 2 Champion Kirkwood. Nerinx had been ranked in the top 5 in the State all season, before getting upset by Cor Jesu last weekend. Kirkwood has been really picking up steam as the season has gone on, and could jump up there and take home the Sectional title as well. The race for the final State spot looks to be between Farmington, Pattonville, and Jackson. Jackson beat Farmington by 2 points last week so that could go either way, and Pattonville ran very well as they took second place in District 2.

The race for the individual title will feature District 1 Champion Stephanie Anthonies (Seckman), District 2 Champion Lucy Ndungu (Pattonville), Frances Luna (Cor Jesu), Frances Luna (Cor Jesu), and Marisa Jacknewitz (Nerinx Hall). These runners have squared off at various times this season, and have swapped spots a lot. I wouldn't be surprised to see any of the girls bring home the victory this weekend.

The Boys team race looks to be a two way race between District 1 Champion St. Louis University High and District 2 Champion Kirkwood. SLUH has been the number one ranked team all season, and has a reputation of coming up clutch towards the end of the season. Kirkwood also has ran extremely well as the season has gone on, and this might be a preview of two teams who are competing for a State title next week. The race for the final two state spots will be between Webster Groves, Lindbergh, Jackson, and Ladue.

The Individual race will include District 2 Champion AJ Wallach (Kirkwood), District 1 Champion Jaden Deaton (Poplar Bluff), Lucas Racker (St. Louis University High), Noah Scott (St. Louis University High), Collin Clark (Ladue) and Martin Strong (Kirkwood). Wallach has had the strongest season of those listed, with wins at Stan Nelson, Parkway Central (where this race is), Suburban Conference, and District 2 last weekend. To go along with those he has a 4th place finish at Gans Creek, and a 9th place finish at Chile Pepper in extremely competitive fields.
