MISSOURI TRACK & FIELD/XC RECRUITING:

Here's the latest recap of signings from across Missouri, highlighting the group of future collegiate athletes.

Diaz was a four-time all-stater in cross country, placing 5th in 2021, 14th in 2020 and 16th in 2019. He earned all-state medals in track and field last year in the 800- and 1,600-meter runs.

- Magdalena Singleton is headed to Missouri State. The Parkway South senior took 56th place this year at the MSHSAA Class 5 XC Championships. She had six top-10 finishes throughout the year. She ran in the state meet three times for cross country and qualified in the 3,200-meter last spring at the MSHSAA Class 5 Championship.

- Hailey Smith from Wentzville Timberland will compete at Missouri S&T, a Division II school in Rolla. She runs the 100- and 300-meter hurdles, as well as the long jump and triple jump. She was the GAC South Championships runner-up in the 300-meter hurdles last spring.

- Another Timberland athlete going to college is Emilia Labruyere, who was appointed to the United States Military Academy West Point (Army) and will compete for the Black Knights' track and field program. She's qualified for state twice in the shot put and once in the discus.

- A third Timberland athlete is Ansley Jones, who will throw for William Woods University. She has thrown the discus and shot put for the Wolves.

- Neosho's Madilyn Ebbinghaus will make a long trek to college, signing with Lasell College in Newton, Mass. She runs the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes for the Lady Wildcats.

- Class 4 discus star Karon Johnson has signed with Brown University. The Willard standout has been the runner-up the past two years at in Jefferson City and will be a favorite to win this year. Johnson will be the first Missourian on the roster since Blue Springs' Simon Belete was on the 2014-15 roster.
