Congrats to Liberty North's Javon Smith for winning last week's poll with 63% of the votes. He won the shot put and discus at the Emporia State High School Relays on March 31, breaking the school record in the discus with a throw of 170 feet, 8 inches.
This week Missouri's stars were spread across the state dropping some great performances!
The future Purdue football player broke a school record in the triple jump at the Farmington Quad with a distance of 6.62 meters (46-5 1/2).
Asher Buggs-Tipton, Green City
The Class 1 sensation came to Independence and won the 110-meter hurdles (13.95) and 300-meter hurdles (38.61) against larger competition and set meet records at the Bill Summa Invitational.
Jet Coleman, Smithville
The junior broke the school recording the 200-meter dash, running 22.26 at the Smithville Invitational. The previous mark was 22.46 in 1994.
Devin Rue, Bowling Green
The senior set a new school record on April 5 at the Bowling Green Mini-Medal meet in the discus with a throw of 47.52 meters (155 feet, 11 inches) breaking a mark that stood for the past 53 years.
