Knox County senior Jennifer Hinkle has continued her steady progress in the Javelin her senior year. The Northeast Missourian has signed to throw the spear at Mizzou next year.
She faced off with the state's best in April at the William Chrisman Bill Summa Invitational on April 8 where she won with a PR of 44.08-meters. A week later she won the Kansas Relays with a bomb of 48.29m/158-5.
That mark puts her 9th on the season performance list in the U.S. The toss also puts her 4th on the Missouri All-Time performance list. Hinkle will throw for her first state title Saturday morning as well as trying to move a spot or two on the Missouri All-Time list
Hinkle has competed in many events over her first three years of the sport in high school. The softball player has succeed in the javelin, like many do who come from a softball and baseball background.
I interviewed Hinkle this week as she prepared for the meet, talked her sporting history, her goals, and her college future at Mizzou.
