POLL: Missouri Girls XC Runner of the Week (Sept. 11-17)


The cross-country season is in full swing and we are here to showcase standout performances each week. 

Below are the top girls performances from the past week around Missouri. The winner will be crowned the Missouri Boys Runner of the Week for Sept. 11-17.

Polling starts on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 1 p.m. CT and ends on Friday at 12 p.m.

Kayleigh Norris, Harrisonville
The junior broke a school record and recorded the seventh fastest time in school history - boys and girls - by running a 17:43.42 during the
Missouri Southern Stampede on Saturday in Joplin. It was also the fourth fastest time in Class 4 since 2010.

Emery Mayfield, Fulton
Running at the Fulton Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 16, she dominated the field with a time of 20:07.09 to win, winning by 1 minute, 23 seconds. It was her second win this season for the senior.

Sisely Mitchell, Platte County
For the second year in a row, Mitchell took first place at the Platte County Invitational - now called the Chris Stubbs Platte County Invitational. It was the first win of the season for her, running 20:59.80 in the race held on Sept. 14.

Lydia Bailey, Westminster Christian Academy
The senior picked up a win at the Paul Enke Invitational on Sept. 15 at Sioux Passage in St. Louis. She finished in 20:41 - a minute faster than last year in the same race - and it was her first career win.
