POLL: Missouri Boys XC Runner of the Week (State Meet)

The Missouri cross-country season has concluded and state champions have been crowned. 

Below are the top boys performances from the 2023 state meet. The winner will be crowned the Missouri Boys Runner of the Week.

Polling starts on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 3 p.m. CT and ends on Nov. 16 at 12 p.m.

Reed Layton, Woodland

Layton had a double win on Friday, winning the Class 2 individual title (16:25.2) and helped the Cardinals win the school's first title in the sport.

Riley Blay, Nodaway Valley

The Northwest Missouri State pledge became only the second boys three-time championship after running a Class 1 record 15:48.2 on Friday.

Isaac RiveraLincoln College Prep

The Kansas City-area runner highlighted the competition on Saturday by running 14:54.6 - two seconds off the state record. He's the school's first XC champion and the third-ever boy to win a title for the Blue Tigers.

Ben Chance, Bowling Green​​​​​​​

The senior ended the season with wins in his last five races and took first in the Class 3 finals in 15:25.2 on Saturday.

Luke Sievers, Rock Bridge 

A late pass of two runners, including a teammate, helped the Bruins sophomore win the Class 5 title on Saturday in 14:51.9.
