One of the top runners in the state has decided to sign with Southern Illinois.
Bowling Green's Ben Chance, who won the MSHSAA Class 3 XC Championship this year, has chosen to sign with the Salukis. The roster there features former Rock Bridge standout Weston Jokerst and brothers Josh Allison and Jonah Allison from Hillsboro.
He won his final five races of the high school season and later competed in the NXR Midwest Regional race in Indiana.
Chance was an all-state cross country runner the past three seasons and earned two all-state medals last year in track and field.
