SUBJECT: 2014 FESTUS JANIS WILLIAMS INVITATIONAL

Your track team is invited to the 7thAnnual Festus Janis Williams Invitational, which will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014. There will be no preliminaries. The list and order of events are attached. The field event participants will be allowed only three attempts.

Entries are limited to two participants per event. Medals will be awarded for first through third place and ribbons for fourth through eighth place. Plaques will be awarded for first through third place teams. The entry fee will be $125.00 per boys team/$125.00 per girls team or $250.00 for both.

All athletes are allowed in a maximum of four events, with a maximum of three of those being running events.

All entries will be entered online utilizing Mo Mile Split. See the attached sheet for submitting entries online. The deadline for submitting entries online is Thursday, March 28, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. Please print out your submission form and bring to the meet. No faxed entries will be accepted.

A brief coaches meeting will begin at 3:30 p.m. in the track shed located at the northeast corner of the track. You will be allowed to only make scratches, no additions. Please review the attached starting times for field events. Please submit your best times and distances.

Coaches, Please instruct your athletes of the following rules for our track and field areas:

1.) Please no throwing the discus on the turf

2.) Please no planting of pole vault poles on the turf

3.) Please no sunflower seeds

4.) Please no gum

5.) Please pick-up trash around the stadium in your area

6.) Please check the spike length on all athletes

7.) Please no climbing/jumping on the fence

8.) Only coaches and participating athletes on the infield, behind the yellow line.

9.) Only coaches may dispute a race or result. Please no athletes in press box area.

Field Events: All athletes will have three throws or jumps. Please inform them that they must get all of their jumps or throws in before the given times before the event is shut down.
