Janis Williams Invitational 2019



Coaches and Athletic Directors:



Thank you for choosing to participate in the 2019 Janis Williams Invitational.  Please note that there are three events being raced Friday night that are a part of the McCullough-Douglass Invitational.  Please see the Friday night schedule below.



Date:  Friday,  March 22, 2019



Where:  Tiger Stadium @ Festus R-6 Campus



Admission:  Athletes and Coaches are free.  All spectators will be charged $1 admission with the proceeds being forwarded to the Alzheimer's Association.



A brief coaches meeting will begin at 3:00 pm in the storage shed near the start line.  You will be allowed to make scratches only at this time; no additions.



Please review the attached starting times for field events.



Awards:  Top 3 finishers in each individual event and relay will receive a tee shirt.  We will have a variety of colors and sizes. There will be plaques given to the 1st place team in each division.

Scoring:  10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1



Surface:  8 Lane rubberized track.  We allow 3/16" spikes on the track.  Please ensure that your athletes are using these prior to competition.  Absolutely no tape on the Track or Turf.



Seeding: Heats/Flights will be seeded by time and distances entered.



** Our throwing areas are not at the track.  They are located behind our High School, within walking distance of the track.



** Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot Put, and Discus events will have 4 attempts for each athlete.



Entry Fees: The entry fee will be $150.00 per girls team and $150 per boys team.  $300 for both divisions.

Miscellaneous: There are bathrooms available. We DO NOT have locker rooms available at the track for athletes.



Tiger Stadium has undergone a very nice renovation.  Please instruct your athletes to NOT wear their spikes into the new bleachers.



There will be a concession stand available.



We will designate areas for tents.  These areas are first come, first served.  We appreciate your cooperation.



ONLY COACHES AND PARTICIPATING ATHLETES ON THE

FIELD AND AROUND THE COMPETING AREAS. Parents, fans, friends, etc will not be

allowed down on the infield, around the pole vault, jumps, or throwing areas. There

are observation areas for both the throws and the horizontal jumps. Vertical

Jumps will have to be watched from the stands by fans.



Entries: Teams will be allowed to enter 2 athletes in open events and 1 relay. Entries will be done on momilesplit.com. All entries are due by 3 p.m. on Thursday,  March 21. Timing will be done by Championship Timing.

Running Events start at 3:30 with a rolling schedule.  All events will be girls followed by boys.
