On Saturday, September 19, 2019 Cape Girardeau Central High School will hold its annual Cross Country Invitational Meet at Central High School 1000 South Silver Springs Road
*PLEASE READ BELOW FOR NEW RULES/PROCEDURES THIS YEAR*
DISTANCE:ALL races 5K - except Jr. High Boys/Girls, approx.
1.5 miles
SPIKES:Due to part of the race being run on our
track and artificial turfed football field we ask
that your athletesrefrain from using spikes longer that 1/8
inch.
AWARDS:Varsity Boys & Girls (2 team trophies and
20 Boys/ 20 Girls medals); Junior Varsity
Boys & Girls (1
team trophy and 20 Boys/ 20 Girls medals); Junior High (1 team
trophy and 15
Boys/ 15 Girls medals)
ENTRY FEE:$200.00 per school or $50.00/team (Ex.
Junior High Boys or Varsity Girls)

WAVE STARTS: We will be using wave starts this year
by school. We will have more specific information as the meet date approaches
and all schools are entered. Be on the lookout for wave information and MAKE
SURE ATHLETES ARE REGISTERED IN THE CORRECT DIVISIONS.
-Spectators are discouraged, but not prohibited. We ask that no more than 1-2 spectators per athlete attend.
- Everyone present on CHS campus must wear masks. Athletes, coaches, spectators, everyone.
-All teams should temperature check and screen athletes for symptoms of Covid-19 before getting on the bus to come to our meet.
-Social distancing will be
practiced by all athletes, coaches, spectators, and anyone on the CHS campus. Keep 6 feet from the course and from others.
-Masks should be worn to the start line by runners. Masks may
be removed at the start line and for the race. Runners should wear their mask
after finishing their race.
-We will be providing a map
with parking, spectator viewing, athlete/coach only areas, course, etc.
-ONLY buses will be allowed
to park in the lot between the school and the stadium. (See map)
-Spectator parking will be
limited to the South/Main entrance. (see map)
-The stadium and tent city
will be closed to spectators and deemed Athlete/Coaches only.
-T-shirts will on sale in the tent city area- athletes/coaches only area- and 1 other spot (refer to map)
-Spectators must watch from
other areas of the course unless marked otherwise. (refer to map)
-Team Tents should be spaced
a minimum of 20' apart. We have a large area for tents, spacing is not an
issue. (see map for tent area)
-Athletes should not stop in
the finishing chute but should continue moving and make their way back to their
tent immediately following their race.
-Medals will NOT be picked
up at the event. We will mail awards to the schools per the race results.
Coaches will have 1 hour after results are posted online to protest results,
and must protest IN PERSON.
