Another wild and entertaining State Championship weekend has come and gone and we are here to recap all of the action, starting with Class 3.
Lexington's Distance Ladies kicked off a historic distance state meet performance and Class 2 team title by scoring 23 points in the 1600 Friday as freshman Ellie Lichte won, running the MO#2 fastest clocking at the time on Friday of 4:56.12 (which now puts her 6th after the fast Class 5 Sectional 4 race Saturday), while junior Addison Smith took 2nd in a personal record of 5:06 and sophomore Phoebe Englebrecht was 4th in a PR of 5:13. The Minutewomen tallied the first 23 points of their 65 in the meet, all of which came in the 800, 1600, 3200, and 4x800 meters, with the Lexington taking the titles in the 1600, 3200, and 4x800.
