Festus has it's latest state title contender. With Missouri running great Carson Driemeier having graduated and moved on to the college ranks, it appears Show-Me State powerhouse Festus' run of individual state champion contenders will continue. After his last two performances, Grant Fink has confirmed his status as such. Two weeks ago in Huntsville, AL, Fink ran a personal best of 15:22 to place 6th in the Championship 5,000 at the On Twilight at PR'ville. He followed that up Saturday with a convincing win at Blackburn Park in Webster Groves. He took the lead early to earn a 3-second lead at the mile, expanding that to just over 5 near the 2-mile mark, opened it up to about 12-seconds at 2.94 miles before finishing in 15:29 for a seven-second victory. Fink led the Tigers to a runner-up team finish to host Webster Groves, 40-52, in the field of 17 scoring teams.
