7. Edward Wilhite - Warrensburg - SR: Wow can Warrensburg churn out some middle distance runners. After a 16:26 5K PR at the state meet (9th among returners), good for his 2nd straight top 15 finish in Class 3, Edward Wilhite snagged an 8th place spot in the highly competitive Class 4 800 in 1:56.91. It was his 2nd medal in the 800, too. Wilhite also can boast a 1600 best of 4:24 and he grabbed 8th in that this spring, too. Too bad we couldn't coincidentally slot him in at 8th, but we thought he deserved the 7th place ranking and expect to see him challenge for more this fall.
