10/21 Class 4 District 2 Washington, MO
Teams: Francis Howell, Francis Howell Central, CBC, DeSmet, Eureka, Kirkwood, Lafayette, Marquette, Parkway Central, Parkway North, Parkway South, Parkway West, Washington, St. Joseph's Academy, Ursuline
District 2 is arguably the toughest one this Saturday and involves St. Louis's top teams. It is rather often both in cross country and track that a well-deserving runner or team is left home whereas they may have easily made it out in another district close to them in this district. There could very well be three teams on the boys side that take 18-20 of the top 30 individual qualifying places which leaves very little wiggle room for those non-elite individuals on non-qualifying teams. Those three boys teams are probably a lock to get through, but the depth drops off in the team race after that, but on the girls side, there appears to be 5 or 6 teams competing for 4 spots. Of course, the toughest district also gets the toughest course so it will be interesting how the mental and physical taxer that is Big Driver will affect the race as well. It won't be an easy road to state for this district.
