Pre-Season Rankings: Class 5 Long Jump

6. Diamond Riley, Senior

Ritenour

PR: 17-11.5

As the defending State Champion in the Triple Jump, Riley will look to improve upon her 8th place finish at State last year in Long Jump. According to the MileSplit database her first time ever long jumping was at Districts last year where she jumped 17-8.75, quite impressive for a debut. Considering she's also a 40 foot triple jumper, I would not be shocked to see her go above 18 feet this season. She is a definitely a favorite for another State Medal this year.

5. Osayi Omorodion, Sophomore

North Kansas City

PR: 18-1.75

Last season Osayi just missed out on a State berth in the Long Jump, placing 5th in Sectional 4. She was however able to not only qualify for State in the 100mH, she ended up becoming State Champion. Another year of practice and maturity should do her a lot of good in the Long Jump, and I'd expect her to improve upon her PR and end up on the podium in the Spring.
