Mineral Area College adds 4 recruits

Mineral Area College is gearing up for next year by adding in-state recruits to join the junior college located in Park Hills.

Coach Steve Davis, who built a powerhouse as the head coach at Potosi High School, is replicating that success at the collegiate level. The men's program won national championships in 2019 and 2020.

The Cardinals have signed Sam Knight, Jeb Huff, Ian Ehrhardt and Grace Bone.

Knight ran a personal best 17:45.95 in the 5K at his home meet this fall at the Farmington Cross Country Invitational. He also ran at the MSHSAA Class 4 State XC Championship, placing 79th.

Bone is also from Farmington and was a qualifier in the girls' state championship this year, finishing 104th. She ran a career-best 21:40.30 at the Class 4 District 1 meet.

Ehrhardt, from Jefferson (Festus), ran in the MSHSAA Class 2 State XC Championships for the past three years. He ran the 800- and 1,600-meter runs for the Blue Jays.

Huff was another running in the Class 2 race for Greenville , finishing 64th this fall and was 75th in 2021.

He's an all-state pole vaulter as well, taking fifth in the MSHSAA Class 2 State Championship in 2021. His best in the event is 12 feet, 9 inches.
