If you take a look at the 2016 State meet results Class 4 girls 3 mile, you'll see that Park Hill South was actually in position to win big based on their team's 3 mile times. Unfortunately, they aren't altogether joking when they say "the last 0.1 is the hardest part" and Park Hill South fell to 4th in that span, just 1 point back of 3rd and 9 points back of 1st. The 4 girls returning from last year's Top 7 enjoyed stellar track seasons. Marti Heit finished with a 5:28 1600 and 11:21 3200 to go along with her 19:33 5K best. She is followed by the sisters Roth - with Emma hitting 5:12 in the 1600 and 2:17 in the 800 and Olivia rolling 2:30 800 PR as a frosh. They both return with PRs over 5K of 19:52 and 20:06. Keely Danielsen, not to be outdone, put together a 5:36/12:08 campaign to go along with her 20:02 lifetime best in the 5K. Park Hill South boasts a solid top 4 core, but will need a 5 if they wish to return to the top. It's going to be a hard fight to get back up on to the podium, but the Panthers still have the pieces to make it interesting. They aren't the most historic program, but they are 2 for 3 on trips to state and grabbing trophies.
