8. Jacob Powelson - North Andrew, SR
PR - 2:06.27
Powelson has a couple of state medals to his name. Interestingly, they are not in the 800, though, as they have both come in the high jump. He did run at state in 2017, nonetheless, and his 2:06.27 makes him one of the top returners in the event and a preseason contender for a state medal in his first running event.
7. Tyler Stebbins - Liberal, SR
PR - 2:04.80
Stebbins had a strong senior year of cross country after taking 5th in Sectional 2 in the 800. His 2:04.80 though makes it tough for us not to rank him the top 8 heading into the season, particularly if and when he gets through the Sectional meet this season.
