6. Patrick Covey - Polo, SR
PR - 2:05.60
Covey got progressively better throughout the season in the 800 until he capped off his junior campaign with his 2:05.60 personal best. It got him 11th, but sets him up well to snag a medal in 2018 should he be able to continue that progress.
5. Evan Smith - Chadwick, JR
PR - 2:04.42
Smith turned in a huge junior year cross country campaign after some stellar times his sophomore year of track. He was 2:04.42 in the 800 to take 10th at state and also ran 4:33.04 for 1600 (5th). Solid range, experience on the medal stand, and no fear make Smith a top 5 talent in every race he runs, including this one.
