What To Watch
Calvary Lutheran looks very strong in District 4. On the girls side, Maddie Homfeldt, freshman sister of former all-state and state track champion Emma Homfeldt, and Sarah Johnson appear ready to lead their squad to a District title. Kaylee Foster, Fair Play's perennial star hasn't set a personal best since her 8th place finish at Oak Hills Golf Course her freshman year (2016), but that should not discard her ability to compete in the state series. Hermitage appears ready to grab the second spot to state as Calvary Lutheran and the Hornets are the favorites to grab both spots on both sides.
Codey Shuler and Caleb Horman have both benefited from some notoriously fast courses, but Shuler gets the slight edge in this author's eyes. A top 10 finisher in 2018 (8th), Shuler has the experience and chops when it matters most and should be the favorite to pull in the individual title at Linn. Grant Going looks to lead his squad to the team title and onto their first ever state meet berth.
