District 6
Location: Jeremy's Creek (Lamar)
Teams in Attendance
Ash Grove, Clever, College Heights Christian, Diamond, East Newton, Forsyth, Marionville, Sarcoxie, Southwest (Washburn), Sparta, Spokane, Strafford, Summit Preparatory School
Up moves Lamar, but down comes East Newton. District 6 just can't seem to catch a break.
With East Newton and Lamar swapping spots, state championship contenders in their own rights, District 6 appears to belong to the Patriots on the boys side. Led by the trio of Jacob Bennion, Kelton Sorrell, and Gabe Bergen, they should be able to hold off their closest competitor, Spokane, for the win Saturday. As for the individual win, it appears to be between those three mentioned above, Spokane's Sam Shuman, and the Summit Prep duo of Tanner Talley and Trevor Talley.
On the girls side, it's all College Heights Christian. CHC could qualify all seven of their girls individually as they run away with the team win. Grace Bishop, one of the bigger names in Class 2 over the last two years, will look to earn the individual win for CHC, but Summit Prep's Alexis Workman is looking similarly strong this season. She's only ran four times this season, but her 20:01 from East Newton stands as the top mark among all of the runners. Teammate Olivia Lynch could help the squad go 1-2, but with seven ranked in the top fifteen, College Heights should still run away with the team win
