The Class 3 Girls team race looks to be intriguing when looking at who will walk away with trophies, but there is a heavy favorite for the Team Title. MICDS looks to be a heavy favorite coming in, and has looked even stronger as the season goes on. The recently won the District 4 Championship with 37 points and a team average of 20:42. Competing for the final three trophy positions will be Smithville, Incarnate Word, Festus, Owensville, DeSoto, and Warrensburg. These teams look to really tight, and it looks like they'll finish very close for the second, third, and forth place trophies this weekend.
The race for the Individual State Title looks to be an absolute slug fest this year. Julia Ray (MICDS) comes into the meet with the fastest time in Class 3 this year, followed by Macy Schelp (Lutheran South) at 18:44, Olivia Littelton (Smithville) at 18:45 , Lilian Jackson (St. Charles West) at 18:53, 2017 State Champ Kylie Goldfarb (John Burroughs) 18:54, and Kiersten Potter (Lamar) at 19:05. Schelp has arguably been the strongest this year, recently beating Goldfarb at the District 2 Meet, and she defeat Ray a few weeks ago at the TRXC Borderwar. A lot of these girls also competed at Gans Creek, where Schelp had the fastest time at 19:18, followed by Littleton at 19:29, Potter at 19:31, and Jackson at 19:46.
