Headed to Nationals
Pony Express Athletic Performance jumper Preston May soars through the air in the 17-18 year old long jump event. May is from Lee's Summit and attends St. Michael the Archangel High School. May took fourth place to advance to the national finals. The club is from the St. Joseph area.
The 15-16 year old 100-meter hurdles had a heat that featured a pair of Missouri runners. Diamond's Zachary Roughton, far left, ran for 417 Up and Out Jump Club, while Helias Catholic's Matthew Malmstrom, second from right, ran unattached. Malmstrom took first place overall and Roughton took fifth. Both advanced to the national finals in the event. Malmstrom was the Class 4 runner-up in the 300 hurdles.
