The Jefferson City Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Jefferson City School District made the announcement on Friday, June 16.

The meet has been held at Jefferson City High School since 2016 -- with the exception of the 2020 and Class 3-5 held in different locations in 2019 following a tornado that hit Jefferson City.

At least one class of state meets have been held in Jefferson City since 1976 and Reed Stadium at Lincoln University -- across the road -- held all of the state meets from 1979-2015.

"The positive economic impact of the state track-and-field meet on our city and its businesses is undeniable, and we are proud that Jefferson City will continue hosting duties for more years to come," said CVB Executive Director Diane Gillespie in a press release. "Jefferson City's small businesses, restaurants, hotels, and other local industries benefit greatly from this major event. We are thankful to the JC Schools staff, students, and families who work hard to make the meet a success year after year."

The CVB noted the event is expected to bring $20 million to the area during the 2026-2030 contract based on the $4 million impact in 2023.
