POLL: Who was the Missouri Girls XC Runner of the Week?


The cross-country season is officially underway and with a new season comes new standout performances. 

Below are the top girls performances from the past week around Missouri. The winner will be crowned the Missouri Girl's Runner of the Week for Aug. 27 - Sept. 3.

Polling starts on Monday at 8 p.m. CT and ends on Friday at 1 p.m.

Kenzleigh Goans, California
The returning Class 3 all-stater took first place at the Jim Marshall Cross Country Invitational in Jefferson City on Sept. 2, running 21:40.96 -- a 12-second winning margin.

Mya Wray, Platte Valley (South Nodaway)
The sophomore, who was third at the Class 1 meet last year, opened up her 2023 season with a win at the Maryville Invitational on Aug. 29. She won in 21:23.66 -- more than a 1-minute margin of victory.

Brianna Krueger, St. Charles West
The freshman won her first varsity race, which was held Sept. 1 at McNair Park in St. Charles. She ran 20:09.17 to win the First Capitol Cross Country meet.

Elsa Henry, St. Michael the Archangel
The senior won the 51st Annual
St. Mary's Cross Country Invitational, taking the crown for the second straight year. The returning Class 3 all-stater ran 19:19.86, a cushion of nearly 43 seconds.
