Central (St. Joseph) Boys

Led by the Bachman's, Jeff and Brett, and Zac Miller, this team could surprise a lot of people this year.  All three returners have run 16:35 or faster with Jeff Bachman holding the best PR of 16:17.  With another two runners in the 17:30, Central looks to be one of the better teams this year.  While none of these guys have finished All-State, the times are still there.  This is a great team that coming into the season is ranked among the best schools.

Coach Miller Says...

"We are very excited for this season.  When I took over the program 2 years ago there were no senior boys on the team.  It has certainly been a rebuilding process.  Having Zac Miller back, after some health issues basically wiped out his track season, should provide a big boost to our confidence.  Our 4-7 runners have been working very hard to close the gap with our top 3."

"Our schedule this year is pretty similar to the past, with KC Metro and Rim Rock being our larger local meets.  One change is adding the Forest Park Invitational in week 2. "

"We will have a very experienced team this season.  6 of our returning varsity runners will be seniors.  Our top 3 runners have led us the past 2 seasons, each multiple state qualifiers.  Jeff & Brett Bachman and Zac Miller all have aspirations to be All-State this season.  Experienced runners will fill out the rest of our varsity and we are shooting to qualify for the state meet as a team for the first time since 2004."
