The 2009 season has come to a close and with it, the most anticipated meet of the season; The Missouri Class 3-4 State Championships. With near perfect weather on Friday the stage was set for the thrills to begin. On Saturday the heat rose and the wind showed up to play spoiler.

A Season to Remember Josh Rollins Feb 24, 2008

Michael Pierce, a junior at Southwest Baptist University is nearing the completion of his storybook Indoor season.  Pierce began the season in early December with a 5 second personal best in the mile at Kansas State, and has since ran three personal bests. 

The improvements have been steady and have included personal records of 4:11 and 4:07 in the mile, and a best 1:54 at the 800 meter distance.  The latter of the two 1 mile pr’s has earned him a berth to the 2008 NCAA Division II National meet at Minnesota State University in March. 

We were able to catch up with Michael and ask him a few questions about how he has viewed his recent progression, and to inquire about his goals for the rest of the season....
