Class 4 Sectional 4
Class 4 Sectional 4 will be contested at the Sun Flower Course in Liberty, which is a fantastic venue. The Boys race will see 5 boys come in with sub 16:00 season bests, including Tom Seitzer (15:30), Dillon Grover (15:54), Gabe Mcclain (15:56), Luke Byrne (15:59), and also there's the rumored return of Wes Porter who ran 15:22 way back on September 1st. Seitzer his the favorite here, but it should be a fun competitive race throughout. Rockhurst would be the favorite to win the team title without Porter, but with him back they are just that much better. They are projected to win with a 33-65.5 edge over Liberty. It looks to be very competitive for the final 2 qualifying spots between Staley (101), Central (St. Joseph) 107, Blue Springs South (114), and Blue Springs (129). I think the top 4 all hold their spots.
In the girls race we will see Class 4 #1 Madelynn Hill (18:08) take on Class 4 #5 Tessa Valdivia (18:28). I know I've said this 1000 times by now, but Hill has yet to lost to a Missourian this season, but Valdivia will be the toughest competition she's faced so far. It should make for a fun race to watch on Saturday. For the team title it looks like Blue Springs South will be the Champions with a project 52-73 win over rival Blue Springs. Central (St. Joseph) and St. Teresa's are neck and neck at third and forth with a projected 95 and 96 points respectively. Liberty North is 5th and will look for an upset with a projected 107 points. I think the top 4 holds in this one, with Cenrtal and St. Teresa's being a toss up for third and forth.
