Early Outdoor Outlook: What To Watch For This Spring

Can anyone come close to the Cardinal Ritter girls?

It's hard to think the answer to the above question is anything but "no."

In 2022, Coach Spain's squad nearly doubled up the next closest team, with 85.5 points, well ahead of second place Blue Springs' 46. Those points came primarily from Aniyah Brown, who won the 100 and 200, Kyndall Spain, who was 3rd in the 100m Hurdles and 4th in the 300m Hurdles, Charlye Moody, who was 4th in the 200 and 2nd in the 400, and their sprint relays which placed 1st (4x100), 2nd (4x200), and 1st (4x400). Their 4x100 mark of 46.14 was a state record and the 4x400 mark of 3:50.84 was top 10 all-time.

They graduate NO ONE. That includes the afore-mentioned stars plus Brooklyn Brady, Alexis Taylor, Hannah Wallace, Nazariah James, and more. So if you were impressed with last year's performance, buckle up because 2023 is going to rival it. More to come on them as we get closer to the season, that's for sure.

The Lady Lions of Cardinal Ritter are a step (or four) ahead of anyone else in Class 5. They return one of the deepest sprint/jumps crews we've ever seen.
