Russellville Girls

Last years Class 1 state champs return their top five. That includes three All-State runners, led by 7th place finisher Miranda Hill. Grace and Taylor Young round out the top three for Russellville. The Indians will return experience as five runners on this years team competeted at state last year. This team should be a serious threat to defend their Class 1 team title.

Coach Miller Says...

"Our girls look strong heading into the XC season. Our 3 returning All-State runners put in more miles this Summer than they ever had before. We return our Top 5 runners from last year and we have good depth again with a total of 9 girls out this season. We share 4 of our runners with softball and golf, so we never really have a full complement of runners for our meets until mid-October. During that time, we come together as a team and I have a better feel of what we can do as we head into Districts and State."

"Our schedule kicks off with the Jim Marshall Invitational in Jefferson City on the 1^st of September. That is an excellent meet to start the season with. We have our usual meets at Vienna and Linn early in the season that will let us know how we stack up against other quality small schools. We are waiting to see if we land in Class 2 or stay in Class 1 this year. We may have to alter our schedule depending on that outcome. We are on the bubble this year. Our team really enjoys running at Owensville in October and the Salisbury Invitational later in the month."

"Our goals never change year to year. We want to compete for the Conference Title, District Title and run our best at State."

Roster

My returning All-State Runners are Jr. Miranda Hill, Jr. Grace Young and Jr. Taylor Young.

Returning runners from State last year are Erica Miller, soph and Hannah Michitsch, soph. Both were All-District Last Year.

Junior Hannah Matthews returns after being out with an ACL injury during her Freshman year of XC.

Sophomore Justice Miller returns. Justice was All-Conference last year.

Freshman runners are Jorden Barnhart and Mary Potts.
