5. Garrett Becker - Steelville (Previous: 8; Change: +3)

4. Caleb Cornelius - Saxony Lutheran (Previous: 3; Change: -1)

3. Isaac Ashton - Tipton (Previous: 2; Change: -1)

Ashton moves back ever so slightly, but with his 16:05 at Vienna, he will remain a stalwart in the top 3 in Class 2 for the time being.

2. Kolin Overstreet - Lamar (Previous: 4; Change: +2)

An eye-popping 15:58 victory over his long-time #1 teammate at East Newton was followed up with another victory at Lamar's home meet. After moving back to #2 on Lamar's team, Overstreet slides into #2 in Class 2 after a few stellar performances these past two weeks.

1. Mark Venable - Lamar (Previous: 1; Change: 0)

After giving a little slack to his teammate, Venable snatched that #1 spot at Lamar back and thus was able to maintain his position at #1 in our subjective rankings. With a 16:21 on the state course, should Venable shave off some time in the final weeks of preparation, we see him as the clear favorite to take home the gold in November, with his sophomore teammate right behind him...

Team

5. Stockton (Previous: 2; Change: -3)

4. California (Previous: 5; Change: +1)

3. Steelville (Previous: NR; Change: N/A)

You've heard of the two studs on the girls side, but have your heard about the boys team? Third at Capital City, they are starting to piece together success in their own right and that pushes them from unranked to #3 in Class 2.

2. Fatima (Previous: 4; Change: +2)

Fatima's girls are storied, but their boys made a huge leap at the Capital City CC Challenge. They were 12 points behind our #1 Class 2 team and that vaults them into the #2 spot in our rankings.

1. Lamar (Previous: 1; Change: 0)

They have been cruising along this season, but ran into a test on Saturday at Capital City. Lamar held their own, but they will need to bring along some depth in order to separate from the teams that are starting to creep up on them. It will be hard to beat Lamar in November, though, if Venable and Overstreet continue to trade off 1-2 finishes throughout the season.
