Defending state champion Issam Asinga from Principia is one of the fastest sprinters in the state and among 2023 graduates, he is the best in three different events through meets held May 11.

He is tops in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes, the only junior to lead in more than one category.

There are some other juniors that have high spots in the rankings. West Plains' Heston Miller is second behind Asinga in the 100 and third in the 200.

In distance events, Joplin's Hobbs Campbell is first in the 1,600-meter and second in the 800. Another distance standout is Adam Snoke from Lutheran South, who is first in the 800, third in the 1,600 and fourth in the 3,200.
