Lamar's Potter named Class 3 SWCCCA athlete of the year

Lamar standout Kiersten Potter was named the athlete of the year by the Southwest Cross Country Coaches Association Class 3 all-region girls team.

Potter was ninth in the MSHSAA Class 3 State XC Championships, following a runner-up finish in the MSHSAA Class 3 - District 2 meet and winning the Big 8 Cross Country Meet.

The senior has committed to Southwest Baptist.

The coach of the year honor was shared by Cassville's Courtney Kirk and El Dorado Springs' Brian Goatley. Incidentally, Goatley was the Class 3 All-Region boys coach of the year.
