2023 Top T&F returners: Missouri boys 400-meter dash

As we continue to look at the top times in each event, the 400-meter dash on the boys side is a little bit different than the 100- and 200-meter times. The best times in the state meet happened only three times in the top 10. 

The top 20 features runners from Class 1 to Class 5. 

The top-2 returners competing for Show-Me State teams again this year are Class 5 All-Staters. Marquette senior Caleb Cody-Jackson earned the bronze medal, finishing 3rd at state for the Mustangs. Cody-Jackson's state preliminary time of 48.87-seconds makes him the fastest returner in the state. 

Blue Springs junior Keith Griffin was 2nd to Cody-Jackson in their state prelim race in 49.60 before a 7th-place finals finish in 49.79. Griffin's sectional time of 49.15 makes him the second-fastest returner to a Missouri school. 

Principia's Issam Asinga ran the 400 just once in 2022 as a junior. He ran to a runner-up finish at the Ladue Brusca-Strohbach Invitational. That race may have reaffirmed his apparent f...
