Van Buren Girls Perfect Score C1 D3, But Bakersfield Finds Five
Class 1 District 3 was probably the lightest race on the docket this Saturday as we feared that only one girls team would field a full team. Luckily, though, Bakersfield found five runners and were able to procure the 2nd qualifying spot to the state meet, locking up their first ever appearance as no girl from Bakersfield has ever run at the state meet. Van Buren was the big winners, though, as they perfect scored the meet and put their top 7 in the top 14. Jenny Morey led the way with the individual victory and was followed closely by Koshkonong junior Leslie Case. While Van Buren looks to be competitive in for a trophy, Bakersfield will carry a 28:17 average into their final meet of the year.
On the boys side, it was more of the same Van Buren as the boys put up a 33 point victory over Bakersfield. Ethan Boyle of Viburnum grabbed the individual title in 18:26 over Van Buren's Tristan Keeney.
