1. Ashley Riley - South Nodaway

Ashley Riley is the run-away favorite in this one and rightfully so. She has put some serious distance on the rest of the field as her average 5K this season is 19:57 and the next closest is projected 2nd place finisher Emma Derr in 21:31. We expect to see more sub-21:00s than just Riley, but with Julia McIntryre fading from what we were expecting this season, the preseason #2 is almost a lock to bring home the Class 1 state title this Saturday.

Teams (projected points)

5. Hermitage (158)

4. West Platte (126)

3. St. Joseph Christian (120)

2. Lutheran Kansas City (110)

1. New Haven (78)

New Haven has come back to the pack since shooting out of the gate earlier this season, but we do not foresee them coming all the way back. This still appears to be New Haven's race to lose as we predict them to sweep both boys and girls in Class 1. It is a tight race between West Platte, Lutheran KC, and SJC behind them as any of those three teams could sneak into any of the next three spots. Hermitage will challenge for 4th with a good day from Sutt and Asare. On the bubble are Glasgow, Van Buren, Liberal, and Calvary Lutheran.
