Zaya Akins seemingly sets a record at every meet she goes to, so it shouldn't be much surprise she is first in three of the events so far in 2023.
The Raytown South standout and future Kentucky runner is the fastest runner in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dashes. All three of those times were set at the Bill Summa Invitational earlier this month at William Chrisman High School in Independence. The meet recap highlights her showing.
She isn't the only one with multiple best marks. Kickapoo's Taylor Mayo, who signed with Kansas, has the best distances in the long jump and triple jump.
