There were four vaulters this year that went over 12 feet -- from Class 2 to Class 5.
Rachel Homoly of Liberty had the best height this year at the Texas Relays in March. An ankle injury late in the year kept her from winning her third straight Class 5 MSHSAA State Championship in the event. She's signed to compete at Arkansas next school year.
The talent in pole vault in the top 10 was spread throughout the state from northeast to northwest Missouri; St. Louis, Kansas City; mid-Missouri; southwest Missouri and even west-central Missouri.
